Camp CHRIS

We would like to take this opportunity to say, “thank you”, for your interest in Camp CHRIS – “The Place for Creativity, Honor, Respect, Integrity, and Safety.” Each summer we offer an exciting educational and recreational nine week summer day camp for “At-Risk” youth ages 6-16. One of the things that makes our camp unique is our 1 to 3 staff to youth ratio.

The philosophy and framework that will be facilitated at camp is Positive Youth Development, which encourages our youth and staff to focus on obtaining the five components of healthy living, thinking, and interacting. The five components are Managing Emotions, Handling Relationships, Self Awareness, Self Motivation, and Empathy!

The location of camp in 2008 is The Horizons School at 1900 DeKalb Ave. Atlanta, Georgia 30307, minutes from Interstate 75, 85, and 20. Camp are from June 2, 2008 through July 31, 2008. The hours of operation are from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Camp CHRIS provides a nutritious breakfast and lunch meals to the youth.

Camp CHRIS provides door to door transportation for participants residing in Fulton and DeKalb counties and works closely with all families to coordinate. Transportation for pick up begins as early as 7:00am.
