Organization and Group Volunteers
You can multiply your impact and volunteer efforts by asking friends from your church, civic organization, club or neighborhood to work together. Coordinate a birthday party, build a garden, paint a house, help with yard work or create your own special event for the youth.
Adopt-A-Home/Family
Your company or organization can sponsor a home or family throughout the year. Each month you can provide basics such as: diapers, clothing, hygiene products, linens and other items. Spend time with the youth and family each month playing games, going to the movies or other fun activities.
Customized Item Drives
Coordinate a hygiene product, school supply or other item “drive” at your organization. Ask your co-workers to bring items to help. CK can conduct a presentation to your group to let them know where the items go and how they help the kids.
Paint Projects
Grab your friends or coworkers and get ready to paint! With eight homes and a 60-bed apartment community, there is plenty to paint. Walls, railings, trim and more. Spend time working side-by-side with our youth improving their homes.
Yard Work & Light Landscaping
Whether it's planting seeds in the spring, gardening in the summer or raking leaves in the fall - you can spend time with our youth teaching them about nature and gardening. You can literally watch as our youth and their flowers grow and blossom each season.
Holidays & Meal Preparation
Thanksgiving, 4th of July, Martin Luther King Day and dozens of holidays are spent with family and friends. Why not take some time and share your favorite family recipes and traditions with our kids? Come out and spend the day playing games, arts/crafts and teaching them how to prepare your favorite meals.
Recreational Activities & Hobbies
Take a child to the movies, go to a basketball game, share your favorite hobby. There are hundreds of free or low-cost activities in Atlanta. Many of our youth have never been bowling, experienced the zoo or gone fishing.
